About Sonic Lion

My name is Martin Leu and I am developing and audio and music software and VST plugin for at least ten years with non-decaying passion. Nitrox has reached a quality now which, in my opinion, makes it worthwhile sharing it with others interested in computer aided music. Also, I would like to get feedback which may help further improve Nitrox.

I chose Sonic Lion as my alias since my last name "Leu" is the poetic synonym for lion. Maybe the most famous mentioning of "Leu" can be found in "Das Lied von der Glocke" by Friedrich Schiller.

I was born in 1965 in Essen, Germany, now living in Balingen which is located between Stuttgart and the beautiful Bodensee (Lake Constance) just before the Swabian Alb. It is a very nice landscape and I enjoy living here.

I have studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe between 1985 and 1990. I was awarded a PhD in computer science in 1995 from the University of Dortmund. My dissertation has won the "Dissertationspreis" of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. in the discipline of practical computer science in 1996. Currently I am managing director of a company developing and manufacturing instruments for life science laboratories.

In my spare time, I love to create audio and music software, since it combines my interest in the programming of efficient algorithms and music, although my musical skills are limited, really. Also, implementing those algorithms prevent my programming skills from getting rusty!

I hope you enjoy the software provided on this site and I appreciate any donations if you use the software on a regular basis.

Also, feel free to give me any kind of feedback. Maybe you create your own presets and want to share them with other users. I would be happy to put them into my download section, so please send them to me.
